What a great evening we had on Wednesday 19th August 2015.

Forty-two people turned up, some old faces and some new.

A fine time was had by all as the topic “Avoiding offshore company elephant traps” went backwards and forwards with some vigorous debating.

The wine was grand, unfortunately we ran out of cheese near the end and finally drew to a close at 8:30pm.

Next meeting is 16th September at 6pm. Please advise if you are coming as we don’t want to run out of cheese.

Again thanks to everyone for making it a very enjoyable evening.

Next time we are going to consider one or two matters such as:

1) How to avoid VAT on commercial property transactions.

2) Does unpaid share capital attract a S455 liability?

3) Late claims for overpaid income tax and capital gains tax with particular reference to the Higgs v HMRC 2013 UKUT 0092 (TCC).

Look forward to seeing you all again.

All the best
